Brazilian coffee predominantly comes from three states, one of which is Minas Gerais. This state is responsible for over 50% of the national harvest. Its mountainous topography and tropical altitude climate are ideal for cultivating Arabica coffee.

Our Amarelo originates from the Abaeté dos Mendes farm, located in the Cerrado Mineiro region. Managed by the Pereira family, their coffee cultivation journey began in 1998 with the sole aim of selling coffee seedlings. Two years later, the founders decided to expand their business by starting an actual coffee plantation.

The second generation of the family, who are Agronomy Engineers, play vital roles in areas such as soil nutrition, and improving harvest and post-harvest processes. Today, more than 130 cultivars are grown for production. To trace potential plant variations, the farm also conducts research across its nine research fields.

Lastly, and very importantly, the Pereira Group preserves 40% of the Cerrado biome and continues to reforest their properties. Beyond this, they actively encourage neighboring farmers to do the same. To support this mission, they maintain a nursery of native plants, trees, and flowers from the Cerrado Mineiro region.

With such dedication to the farm, it’s no surprise that the Yellow Catuaí coffee they produce is exceptional. Our Amarelo coffee reflects all the defining characteristics of Cerrado-grown coffee, offering delightful notes of cocoa, brown sugar, and nuts in a vibrant flavour profile.
